Please be praying

Over the last couple weeks Ella's oxygen has been dropping. As long as it stayed in the 70's or 80's we were not too concerned. In the last three days her numbers have popped in and out of the high 60's. This evening when we checked Ella's levels they were in the low 60's and even dropped to 59 once or twice. We called the cardiologist and he said to put her on 2 liters of oxygen for 30min. and monitor her stats. Her numbers immediately began to go up. Her heart rate was rising and got up in the 170's because she did not like the piece in her nose.  Her hart rate has been as low as 80 tonight and her oxygen as high as 89... talk about extremes!!! Ella's cardiologist is talking to Ella's surgeon in Dallas and he is going to call me back tonight or tomorrow.  He said it sounds like she may be out growing her shunt a little sooner than expected.Jon and I will be up with her tonight keeping watch on her stats and keeping the oxygen in place. Please be praying for wisdom and peace during this time. I do not believe Ella is in severe danger at this point, however we may have to take some action very soon! Thank you all for your prayers for our sunshine... It's times like these we realize the stark reality of her condition.

  1. Amy, I will be praying all through this night as you face this & I'll be praying for wisdom! We love you guys & we're praying ALWAYS!

  2. I will be praying very hard for you guys, Amy! Ella's hair is getting so dark and thick!

  3. Praying with total understanding! I want to share a couple verses I was reading last night:
    “I took you from the ends of the earth,
    from its farthest corners I called you.
    I said, ‘You are my servant’;
    I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
    So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
    Isaiah 41:9-10

    Peace tonight... Tawni

  4. Prayers coming your way for your precious Ella. I hope that she gets to feeling better soon!

  5. James, Baby Eli and I will certainly be praying for sweet Ella and for you two. Stay strong!

  6. To Amy, Jon, and Ella -

    I am praying for Ella tonight. I know how scary this HLHS and its other effects are from how often I sit here at home concerned for and praying without ceasing for our own little Emma. AND Ella's name seems to find its way into every day's prayers too! These little girls are fighters - half the heart, twice the fight! But at times when the crises arise, we cannot help but be afraid. God is with you and I pray you feel His presence as you face the doctors' decisions; praying for wisdom for the doctors too. Glad you caught this so fast and got the oxygen.

    Remember: "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, He leadeth me beside still waters, He restoreth my Soul..."

    May He restore your confidence tonight and keep you all three safe!
    Love from Emma's Nana Jana

  7. Amy,
    My IBC church friends (Fishers and Schoolers) told me about your precious Ella, and I have prayed for her over the months. My nephew, Matthew Beaty, is a heart baby who had two defects, three surgeries, and is now a healthy 1st grader. If fact, he is one of the featured kids in the National Jump Rope for Heart Campaign this year. I have seen God's faithfulness over and over in his life, in my sister's life, and now in yours and Ellas. Just wanted you to know that I am following your precious daughter's journey and lifting all of you up in prayer. Love and Blessings, Julie Simmons in Mt. Pleasant, Texas :)
